Join us for “Human Rights and Indigenous Legal Traditions” at the 2017 Canadian School of Peacebuilding with instructor Val Napoleon. Indigenous peoples have many intellectual, legal and political resources that we all need to reason through today’s complex struggles. This course will draw on Indigenous stories to explore sources of Indigenous law and what its functions are, its legitimacy, and authority, and how law changes over time. The course is for anyone interested in thinking critically about how to support the building of non-colonial relationships among Indigenous people and between Indigenous peoples and Canada.
This course is available for professional development, personal inspiration or academic credit. People who may benefit from this course include NGO staff and interns, activists and peace educators, community leaders, religious leaders, teachers and professors, undergraduate or graduate students, government officials, and anyone interested in peace work.
Email csop@cmu.ca for more information. Your application is not complete and your seat in the course is not reserved until we have received full payment.
